Where we Bloom:
A deep, almost glowing shade of blue lies at the heart of this circular relief. The blue evokes the intensity of Yves Klein’s famous International Klein Blue, the ultramarine hue he registered in 1960. For Klein, blue could suggest the infinite: the openness of the sky and sea, and a space the eye can enter.
In this work, the blue takes on a character of its own. The repeated, tactile forms catch the light in different ways; pink and magenta glow along the edges, bringing warmth to the cool blue. Up close, the surface unfolds like a landscape of small forms. From a distance, it becomes one powerful, almost cosmic circle.
